June 15, 2020 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation declaring the week of June 15-19 as Elder Abuse Awareness Week in Iowa.
Iowa’s Area Agencies on Aging are recognizing Elder Abuse Awareness Week with various activities, including radio interviews, outreach to older adults served by their meal programs, letters to first responders in the areas they serve, and a series of informational videos about different types of elder abuse. Visit each Area Agency on Aging’s social media pages to view these videos. When you share them, please be sure to use the hashtags #Engage2Prevent and #WEAAD.
